very frustrated...

Currently i am working on the showhouse of my medium cost project. Scheduled to be completed by mid next mth. I have prepared my work schedule and also the work sequence plus the resource allocation for the showhses.

everything was going well when suddenly my boss decided to give another different instruction to the contractor & supervisor at site. Ok, before starting the proj, i have discussed with boss that we will construct the wall 1st (made of gypsum board) and then the floor tiling. Tiling will come last in the work sequence. Well, he agreed. So, i jz go ahead & proceed with the material purchasing for the board (for wall).

suddenly yesterday, boss instructed the contractor at site to proceed with the tiling work 1st. Wall to construct after the tiles. gosh! how could he do like this?! he always like that. earlier agreed with my work schedule, then last minute change to his plan. Worst still, i got to know this from my contractor & not my boss!!! only late yesterday evening, boss called & asked me to purchased the tiles and to be sent dwn to site tomorrow. I was shocked! why at 1st place he didnt tell me that he wants this tiling work sequence to start 1st? I have purchased board for this week's wall construction, and now, boss wants tiling work to start. haih!!!

so, without wasting much time, i called up my supplier, S. Informing her that my boss jz called and wants the tiles to be sent dwn tomorrow. S said it is impossible as the tiles manufacturer need to check the tiles stocks, arrange for transport (tiles manufactured in johor). Soonest is next week tuesday. S was also frustrated, but luckily S understood that it was also not my fault. I am just adhere to boss' instruction. all of us 'makan gaji', wat to do... :( so now, i have informed my boss abt the situation, he then asked my contractor to proceed with the external wall construction and other small work 1st while waiting for the tiles to arrive next week.

one thing i am not happy is, why my boss always do like this? why he always must change his decision after he has decided? and worst thing, he didnt informed me that he has changed my plans. I always get to know the matter from another person, eg my supervisor or contractor. If boss wants me to manage my work, my boss should not go & instruct my men directly as this would have a conflict in commanding instruction. then, we would have misunderstanding or even communication breakdown.

I know i am capable of managing my project. Furthermore, it is just a showhse project. Why cant my boss just let me handle it? It is not that i do not discuss with him. I DID! everything was discussed & confirmed before the work started. And now, ... sigh!

I agree if he wants to change his plans, yes, he may do so, but let us have a discussion on table with boss & me, then let me instruct them at the site to do the work. Sometimes, too much changes by my boss, even my men at site also have big headache. Multiple changes really makes us feel very very frustrated! My boss just cant have a FIRM decision!!!!

If any of u have experienced of this type of boss, kindly give me suggestions on how do i tell my boss (in a good manner) that i do not like him to do the things which he had done like the above incident and to have good working environment with him. My boss, if u argue with him, he dun like it and he will raise his voice if he thinks he is on the losing side. So u see, he is the type that cannot 'LOSE' to other ppl one. And, he always said to every of his employee that, he always have solutions to every problems. To him, there is no problem. All problems can be solved. And to make matters worst, he thinks that MONEY can solve every damn thing in this world!

i hate this type of personality... money is not everything...money cannot buy love, cannot buy friendship or relationship, cannot buy honesty....if u think money can buy those things, all those are FAKE! All fake!

Thats y i am so frustrated today... after what has happened, i felt that my boss never appreciate the work i have done. always think that he is always the right one and whatever instruction i have given to my men at site, he will superceed it with his plans & didnt inform me. therefore, if u r my supervisors, what would u think? U must be thinking that i am not capable of delivering instruction and thats y my boss have to come in & interfere. U get what i mean here?

memorable weekend

Last week i had a memorable weekend. My parents came all the way to KL from KB. Though it was just a 3 days 2 nites trip, but i can see that my parents really enjoyed themselves.

They came on thursday nite & went back on sunday nite. Then on friday, my bro brought them to the new sunway pyramid. Well, actually i were suppose to be taking leave on friday & sat, but i jz couldn't afford to apply for it. My project jz started & i do not want my boss to think that i am not a responsible person (taking leave during on-going proj) :( a bit sad for me, but wat to do..luckily my parents understood. My parents didnt spend much time in pyramid. Just browsing and came bck home quite early coz we will be having dinner together in klang.

the next day, i brought them to midvalley & The Gardens after my work. I worked half day on saturdays. Wah, in midvalley, my parents shopped a lot. hehehe! my mum bought herself a leather purse from braun buffel and a white gold bracelet from diamonds&platinum, while my dad bought a POLO perfume for himself! I can see from their expressions that they really enjoyed themselves shopping! hehe...oh yah, not forgetting also, my bro suggested that we (my sis, him & i) buy for my mum perfume as her b'day gift. Her b'day falls on 25th nov (dats sunday). After getting the confirmation from my sis (i sms-ed her), finally we bought Dazzling Gold by Estee Lauder 75ml perfume for mum. Costed us RM300 (dats only RM100 per person, quite cheap!). Mum was happy and kept saying that the perfume smells good. ^_^

then on sunday, my plan was to bring them to The Pavillion in KL. But due to the news that there would be a rally in KL, so we changed plan & went to 1-Utama (new wing) instead. Before that, we went for dimsum in klang (near meru). We ordered so much that it is actually our brunch already. hihihi...We arrived 1-utama about noon time. Managed to get a nice spot for my car & went jalan-jalan from new wing to old wing. Again, my parents start to shop again. hehe... this time, my dad is the one who did most of the shopping. Bought himself some long pants & some cds (his fav band Beatles & fav singer Cliff Richard). Mum bought some dresses for Justene (my sis' daughter). Then brought them to Starbucks to have some coffee.

At the same time (killing 2 birds with 1 stone), i had a meet up with my schoolmate, TCC and her hubby in starbucks too. W (my close friend) also joined the meet up. TCC and her hubby really so 'secocok'. 'macam pinang dibelah dua' ^_^ Anyway, congratulations again to both of u! :)

We chatted for quite some time and didnt realise the time. Anyway, really appreciate TCC for giving us (W & i) souvenier. "Psst! Itz handcream from L'Occitane wor, bet itz kinda expensive." Love the lavender scent! Thanks again ya! We left about 5pm and i went to meet up my parents for dinner.

Brought them to Italiannies for dinner. Early dinner coz gotta send them off to airport by 6pm from 1-Utama. My mum loved the seafood pasta & sicilian chicken salad a lot! :) we ordered a few dishes & shared out to eat. Overall, the food and environment is good!

Finally, itz time to leave. We arrived airport about 7pm when suddenly my hp's sms alerted. An sms from Air Asia stating that my parents flight (suppose to fly at 8:20pm) is retimed to 9:45pm. my!!! if only we knew it earlier, that we wouldn't have to rush off so early from 1-Utama. -_- anyway, what to do, we jz have to wait in the airport for the next 3 hrs or so la...

anyway, my parents finally boarded the plane at 10:20pm (2nd retimed). Well, this is air asia lah, no comment. want cheap, then sometimes these retimed incidents we jz cant help it lor. bear with it then.

i arrived home almost 10pm. had a quick bath & went to bed straight...exhausted from the walking in the shopping malls but i really enjoyed myself. able to spend quality time with my parents & this is my most memorable weekend since my last trip back to KB last september.

tired...

Time now is 7:10pm and i am still in office. why? can't finish my work... -_- well, many of u might think, hmm, i have poor time management. But hey, i dont think so! Guess wat?! this whole project dept, i am the only person handling everything! From purchasing, to qty taking off, to verifying subcon's claims, to meeting up with suppliers, to call up quotations, to coordinationg with consultants, to site management & site monitoring, to work progress, and etc etc etc..

ok, so..is that called poor time management? I am just an ordinary lady, with 1 brain, 2 hands & 2 legs. I am trying my best to finish off my work by staying bck late till 9pm in office. This has been going on for the past 2 weeks. My proj jz started piling on 29th oct & now we have 2 pile rigs at site. Last week 1 rig broke down, so we only managed to use 1 rig. Today, 2 rigs full go on full swing, BUT the weather does not permit. Rained from morning till noon, stopped for a while at noon & in the evening, started to rain again. Well, now is the rainy season & we have no choice but to hurdle thru this period. Might have some delay in piling work but i will monitor on the progress on these few days first before i can make any conclusion.

writing blogs more or less relax my mind. Y do i say so? Because itz like i am writing to tell out to someone all my probs. In this case, i am telling it to my PC. For those who knows me, well, u all can always feedback to me anything, on any topic. It would be nice to hear from u all...

i will normally write blogs whenever i am sad, or happy. or if there is any special occasions. Ohh, speaking of occasions, well, my parents is coming down to KL this thursday nite. They will be here till sunday nite and fly back to KB. Another reason why i stayed back these 2 weeks because i am trying to finish up as much work as possible before my parents come over. I thought of taking leave on friday & sat, but have not applied. :( I dunno if my boss allow me to go on leave as now itz quite a critical timing. And, if i go on leave, itz like the whole proj dept closed down. Terrible huh? told my boss already to hire an assistant for me. Anyway, what to do...jz wait lah...

well, almost half past seven already! No wonder my stomach is playing an orchestra now. hehehe! I better go search in my office cabinet, see what 'treasure' i could find there. ^_^

terrible tuesday...

Yesterday was really a busy day at work for me. Was on MC (flu, fever, cough & sore throat - all in 1 perfect package) on monday, came back to work on tuesday...loads of work to be done.

I was so blur after taking the flu medicine after my breakfast. Felt like floating in the air. Maybe due to the cough syrup & the flu medicine. But luckily, i managed to go & come back from my pj site. Actually while driving to the site, i almost knocked into the front car bumper because the front car suddenly had an emergency brake. I think my car front bumper almost touching the rear bumper of the front vehicle coz my front parking sensor sounded. scary man!

then during lunch time, i didnt eat well due to flu. Had wantan mee and had slight misunderstanding with my coleq, X. I am already blur due to the effect of the medicine, she also blur becoz too much work. Jz a small misunderstanding, but she raised her voice to me. I had a big shock, coz i dunno wat have i done wrong! I have paid her for the wantan mee, but she didnt realised that coz she also blur & jz accepted the money w/o realising that she had to pay for both of us. When we were about to leave, the wantan mee seller came to ask for money, then X jz stood there & look at me and pointed to the seller. I thought L has paid & why is she pointing to the seller?? So, i asked X, "wat isit?" X lost her patience and temper & shouted at me "wantan mee ar!". I was at point blank, wat about wantan mee??? then i told X, i have paid to u and u pay to the seller lah. She stared at me blankly and quickly paid the seller. Then she jz walked off to office quickly. I was trailing behind her, wondering what have i done wrong???

back in office, X didnt talked to me till rest of the office hour ended. I also didnt talked to her, coz i was actually quite angry of her, for shouting at me. For no reason leh. I am thinking, " i have done nothing wrong, y u have to raise ur voice to me?" but i was too lazy to go up & confront her for explaination. i was jz back from MC & was weak to argue anything. Furthermore, I understood that she was bz with her work too. Maybe the workload she's having, made her acted this way out of a sudden.

anyway, X didnt even apologised to me until today when i confronted her. I told her, that she shouldn't have shouted at me like that! I have never had any friends who is so rude to me. I think X felt regret for wat had happened yesterday, she apologised and told me that, she was also very blur yesterday & didnt even realised i have actually paid her for the wantan mee. For me, i am ok, as long as u dun repeat the same thing (raised voice to me for no reason). I will feel very pissed off. I also have my limit & never ever test out my limit. Itz like a time bomb to me actually. Now itz still under control. hehehe!!!

anyway, everyone who is working under pressure will have mood swing. I can understand that. I too have that experiences, but not until shouted to my coleq or friends for no reason la! that's too much already.

but no matter how pressurise we are, i will always remember to keep myself under control. For me, in order for me to get respect from other friends, firstly, we have to respect them. You cannot just take everything for granted & expect other ppl to always give in. Then it wont be fair for another party, right?

anyway X, i accepted your apologise & i hope this will not happen again. We need each other's help in our working scope and i hope you will treasure this friendship as much as i do. ^_^

i am back!!!

my! its been 10 days already since my last post. Time don't wait for us ya...

ok, let's see.. what have i done during my last 10 days MIA? hehe..well, alrite...i actually went over to s'pore during the deepavali public holiday. Jalan-jalan lah...wat else...i love travelling. I have even broke my own record of travelling to 5 countries within 1 year! Crazy huh? This year itself, i have gone to Bali, Bangkok, Siem Reap in Cambodia, Brunei & Singapore. And now i am looking forward for my next trip...that'll be to Krabi. Next yr January. hahaha!

Ok, back to my Spore trip. There are total 6 of us that went for the trip. We took a night train on the 8th nov and come back by bus on 11th nov afternoon. Stayed in The New 7th Storey Hostel and surprisingly, itz really clean and i like the simple deco. Location wise is also very strategic...itz in Bugis itself. Jz less than 500m walk from Parco in Bugis Junction. Though itz a hostel, but they managed to keep it clean & tidy. Price is also very reasonable, esp for those who are budget constraint (like us :P) Only thing i don't like about singaporean is that, they like to 'polish shoe' the 'angmo'(whites)rather than treating us asian nice. s'poreans are so 'kiasu'!!! booo! anyway, who cares...we managed to enjoyed ourselves when we were there!

during our stay there, we managed to go 'jalan' in orchard road, chinatown, bugis village and also sentosa island. I could still remember the last time i went to sentosa was like...err, 12 yrs ago! gosh! so much changes lah!!! now the Resort World (casino by genting) is under construction and i think within 5 yrs time, everything will be completed and that place will be another MUST visit place when we visit sentosa. :)

oh yah, i managed to eat MOS burger too! Malaysia MOS burger outlet already closed down long time ago. Maybe itz because too expensive & not filling enough. To tell u the truth, yes, the burger is damn small. hahaha! talking abt food, we also had donuts at Novena Sq "Donut Factory". Yummy! the donuts taste soooo goooood... so soft & light. so much better than our dunkin donut here.

finally, on our last day in spore, we decided to take the DHL helium balloon flight. Situated jz a stone's throw away from our hostel. The ballon will take us up to 150m above ground level & we could see almost the whole of s'pore. The view is marvellous! really enjoyed myself during the flight...and not forgetting, took lots of photos too. Will upload in my multiply soon.

Terry Fox Run 2007

This morning i was so lazy to wake up for work. :( Hate monday morning...

Yesterday morning my friends (YC & KH) & i went for the Terry Fox Run. It was held at The Lake Garden, KL. Many ppl from all walks of life come for this run. It's a charity run & is held every year in Malaysia. This run was started by Terry Fox, who was diagnosed with cancer at a young age & had his right leg amputated. We went there quite early & there were already many ppl at the lake garden. All wearing the same t-shirt "Terry Fox Run KL 2007" :) Got our car parked & headed down to the assembly area. My friend, YC has prepared breakfast for us (triple decker sandwich whole meal bread & vitaSoy). Very healthy breakfast... hehe. thanks YC! ;-)

The run started at 9am sharp and off we go! the trails along the lake garden is so breathtaking. Managed to see some deers, huge bee hive up above 1 big tree along the trail & some birds in the covered bird park. Uphill & downhill with a few stops for mineral water sponsored by private agencies. And, yeah, i think we saw kennysia (the funny blogger), ran passed us. I was so excited & pointed to YC. Well, we didnt manage to catch up with him coz we are walking too slow. hahaha...

We managed to complete the 6.5km run by 10plus am. KH already sms-ed YC when we were almost reached the finishing line. As usual, we were not in for the serious run either. More to enjoy ourselves on a lovely sunday morning. ;-P There were many photographers from the lensa malaysia. wonder if our photos are in their cameras...hmm....*perasan* hehehe! oh yah, not forgetting, we did some camwhoring too. :P

After all the photo shooting & camwhoring, we decided to go home already. Walking along the road, then YC saw the 3R crew. They were doing the coverage on the Terry Fox run. And, u know wat?!, i finally met with Celina, my childhood friend. I was so happy that she still remember me! We lost contact many yrs ago coz she changed her hp no. We then exchanged hp nos & hope to meet up for yumcha next time. Managed to take some pics with Celina & the 3R crew (tini & rafidah). :)

Well, that's abt all the run & my sunday morning outing.......it was a memorable outing for me (as 4th nov also is YC's bday & we managed to do something charitable together on her special day) and got to meet up with my long lost friend, Celina (aka CK when we were in secondary skool). ;-P
