time really flies...

When i was reading thru emails today, i just realised that 1 month ago i was in Beijing, China. Enjoying the beautiful sceneries of China. And today, i am now in Malaysia...back to my habitat...T_T

Hmm, well, jz a little 2 weeks ago...i am actually not in Malaysia again. hehehe.... well, i just love to travel. Sometimes it is like i am addicted to traveling. :P I must control this habit if i were to be able to save up money for my ultimate trip, which is going to Europe for 1.5 to 2 month (backpacking style). I have calculated the sum. I need roughly about RM15 to RM20k for my survival in Europe for 2 months which includes my airfares, accomodation, food, entrance fees, etc etc...

Ok, well...actually i was in Indonesia from 15th to 19th May 2008. Went with 4 of my other friends. We actually departed to Surabaya on 15th May and flew bck to Malaysia from Solo on 19th May. Adventurous leh? Well, this is one of the cheap way to travel to 3 places in such a short time. We reached Surabaya at noon time and decided to take an evening train to Yogyakarta (that's where the Borobudur temple is). Spent the rest of the days in Yogyakarta until our very last day when we checked out from our yogya hostel & headed to Solo airport (which is abt 2 hrs drive from yogya town centre).

Surabaya...hmm, wat can i say.... didnt really travel to the places of interest becoz we were out of time. Y? coz we took the wrong public transport & headed to the wrong destination. Wasted some time there actually. Lastly, we ended up in a food court in a shopping mall, had our late lunch there before headed to the train station to get the train tickets to Yogyakarta. Timing was just right that we finally boarded the train at 4pm local time.

We arrived Yogyakarta at almost 11pm local time. Went to look for a few hotels but room all fully booked. gosh! we had a hard time looking for rooms until there was this indonesian guy helped us. Thank goodness we met him. I cannot imagine where we would end up that night if it wasn't him. hehehe....

Anyway, the next few days in yogyakarta was filled with sight seeing to the borobudur temple, mendut temple, volcanoe merapi, prambanan temple, dieng plateu and etc. Well, i guess u all can go and take a look for yourself for those beautiful pictures i took from there.

Memorable trip to Beijing, China

hellloooo everyone..... i am back from Beijing!!!! It was a very enjoyable trip. Not forgetting, it was a very memorable one. Why i said so? Ok, let me tell you....

Firstly, this is the 1st ever trip i made with my parents to one of the 7 wonders of the world (Great Wall of China). It was my first time to China as well. :) Previously, we made trips to Melbourne in year 2002 for my sis convocation and the last was to Brunei in 2004 when my sis got married. I can see that both my mum & dad really enjoyed themselves during this china trip though it was quite tiring. Our itenary was full for the 8 days tour...

We left Malaysia on 26th April 2008 midnite flight to Beijing. Spent a nite in the air & arrived Beijing on 26th April early morning 6:35am. That morning the temperature in Beijing was 6 degree celcius. Very chilling... Met up with our tour guide, ZJ and he brought all of us to restaurant for breakfast. Food wise...wat else...porridge with some 'char kuey' and some steam buns and some pastries. That morning, food is so-so only. Though i dun fancy porridge, but wat to do...no choice...must take some also. If not, i would be hungry b4 lunch time. :P

After breakfast, we headed to the famous TianAnMen Square and the Forbidden City. My gosh!!! U can see humans everywhere!!!! the place was so packed with humans... Drivers in china also drive like nobody's business. They don't follow the traffic rules at all!!! even at the traffic light when the green man sign appears, the drivers will also not stop for the pedestrians to walk past. Crazy rite???!!!

Then we wanted to go to the MaoTzeDong Maoseleum but when looking at the queue which was as far as 5km, we decided to cancel that from our itenary. After lunch, we went to the Temple of Heaven. At there, same scenario...humans everywhere!!! Took some shots before we head to watch our first show, The Shaolin KungFu show. Interesting story line with superb kungfu actions!!! :) reminds me of jackie chan & jet li!!!

On the second day, 27th April, first place we visited was the Great Wall of China. Wow, magnificient view! I kept wondering to myself, how the ancient ppl managed to build this structure when they don't have those huge machineries & technologies to help them with the construction. Awesome right? Anyway, i am so proud of myself coz i managed to climb the Great Wall (up to 2 fort - *malay called KUBU*) It's kinda tiring coz as you go higher the air goes thinner. As usual, took many many photos too!!! After Great Wall, we had lunch and after lunch we went to Ming Tomb to take a look at one of the 16th emperor tomb. Didn't take much pics there. In the evening, we headed to the Hot Spring. It was some sort of a private club. Had many huge hot spring pools with different water temperature. And, ladies in china are so brave!!! They were bare naked in the ladies changing room and walked around. My gosh!!! This was my 1st time looking at sooo many naked ladies walking here & there. heheheh!!! Anyway, as for us malaysian, it is not a norm for us to do like that. I went to the toilet to get changed. :P After the hotspring, ZJ brought us to watch a dancing show at the club itself. Nothing special abt the show...jz some girls showing their nice bodies & their dancing skills... later after that, we headed back to hotel.

Beijing Olympic bird nest stadium

The next day, we went to a few places like the Summer Palace, BeiHai Park, drove past the Olympic bird nest stadium and Yue Xiu Market before headed to Chengde by 5pm. Arrived chengde almost 11pm. We were then greeted by another lady tour guide, Liu. She was the one in charged of our trip in Chengde. After had our extremely late dinner, we reached our hotel and everyone went to bed straight. It was a very tiring bus trip to chengde.

Imperial Summer Villa

Little Potala Temple

Next morning, 29th april 2008, we headed to the Imperial Summer Villa in the morning. Then in the afternoon, Liu brought us to the Little Potala Temple. In Tibet, this temple is double the size of this one in Chengde. I cannot imagine how huge it is coz this one in chengde already so huge!!! The trip in chengde not so tiring coz only visited 2 places. We had early dinner at 7pm then head back to hotel. Had a good rest before heading to Beijing the next morning after breakfast.

On 30th april 2008, everyone woke up fresh! probably last nite had a good rest. :) After breakfast, we immediately start our bus journey back to Beijing. Arrive beijing just nice for lunch. That day, we had roast peking duck for lunch. :) And also, another interesting thing happened on that day lunch time too! My fellow friends (SC,SL,YC,WW) had secretly organised a surprised birthday party for me!!! They actually informed our guide, ZJ my birthday date and asked him to help out with the ordering of cake. You know wat???!!! I was so touched with the surprised party. They planned it so well that i didn't even realised it. :) This is the 2nd memorable moment coz i celebrated my 30th birthday with my parents around by my side and my fellow friends.
***Thank you so much for all the effort and i really, really appreciate it. I will always remember my this birthday celebration...you all really made my day!***

After lunch, we headed to have a tricycle tour in Hutongs and tour the night bar street before going to the Wang Fu Jing street (famous for all funny funny types of food)-like pasar malam but only sell food. After that, we went for a drive along the ChangAn street, DongHuaMen street. It's a street as long as 10km with nice buildings at both sides of the road.

On 1st May 2008, after breakfast we then went to the World Park. At there, we saw many famous landmarks from all over the world (at a much smaller scale), eg the Eiffel Tower, Colorado Falls, Golden Gate, Coliseum, Stone Hedge, etc..etc... itz fun! In 2 hours, we managed to 'travel' to so many parts of the world and took photos with their famous landmarks. hehehe.... After world park, we headed for the Imperial Cruise which leads us to the Beijing Panda Zoo. Well, not many panda we saw. Only 3 pandas. All were so small and lazy. Maybe they just had their meals...so they jz laze around... :( Only managed to get some shots of them. Not nice shots... After lunch, we went to the Underground City and ZhenYang Ancient Wall. Took some pics there too before we went to watch another show, acrobatic show. This one was interesting! Much better than the one at the hotspring there. But i personally still prefers the Shaolin Kungfu show. :) After dinner, we headed back to hotel & start packing our luggages. The next day we are heading bck to KL.

On our last day in beijing, we still have 1 more itenary to go and plus 2 factories to visit. After breakfast, we went to JingShan Park. Nice scenery with lots of flowers. Tulips!!!! you can climbed to the top of the JingShan and view downwards where u can see the Forbidden City from afar. Nice view!!! After that we went to the Tea & Jewellery shop before had lunch and head to airport. The driver took us a drive around tour along the Olympic village area jz before driving us to airport. I managed to take photos of The Cube (aquatic centre) and the Olympic Village residence for the sportsmen.

Time passed so fast when we were enjoying ourselves so much. Not realising it, it was time to depart.... ZJ sent us to the departure gate before waving goodbye to all of us. It was an enjoyable trip and memorable ones for me...i am sure for everyone who participate in this trip as well.

I hope the next time we could arrange another family trip like this in future......what do u think, gals? Any suggestions, anyone????
